I’ve been reading the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren as part of my devotional time. In this book there is a chapter about why we are here, on earth. The book states that we are here for God’s pleasure, not our own. Which is true, by the way.
The infinite God of the Universe, who exists outside all physical laws of the creation he made, like time and physics and such, made us. He even limited himself to do it. And we think He’s here for us? I say thee NAY!
The reason I bring this up is because later in the chapter, the book says to do things as though an act of worship. It quotes Colossians 3:23, “Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men.” So, don’t be complaining about your job, basically, because would you complain to Jesus? I wouldn’t. But it means more than that. It means Work well, and don’t half-way do your job because it’s boring or pointless or whatever dumb excuse you have. Do it as though you were doing it for Jesus Christ. Because, guess what fellows and females. You are doing all things for Him. So do them well.
